there last two albums practically flopped....i thought "In Reverie" was quite good in parts but why did they go and release a b-sides album....that just stinks of desparation
xGavx
6th December 2005, 12:38 AM
They're still listing the Vagrant Tour dates on their website so I assume they're still on it.

I know this is gonna be controversial, but I HATE that song!
I hear the album ("Stay What You Are") is fantastic though, so I'd be willing to give it a shot.
A certain EHC loyalist recommended it to me.

It's all gravy baby, I’m liking these tunes anyway much better then anything on In Reverie, which really disappointed me, Chris’s voice has kinda changed...not in a bad way though me likes it.
All hail Saves The Day fucking love those guys!!!
xGavx
20th February 2006, 10:39 PM
I'm into this. Eulogy's a good song. There's a riff straight out of a Simple Plan song in there. Chris sounds like Billy Corgan sometimes now. That's weird.

Sorry, I was talking about what I THINK is the new album. The blue one with that light writing on it. Under The Boards?
I hope it's the new one and the rest of their stuff is nothing like this and shit so I don't feel like a sap for not having liked them for this long. I even remember seeing them in a review with Autopilot Off fucking years ago and checking both bands out and only liking AO.
xGavx
21st May 2008, 01:59 AM

Under the Boards and Sound the Alarm are a poor imitation. Through Being Cool is by far the best, do the business and you will be rewarded.

As I've probably said a million times in this thread, Sound The Alarm is totally eeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhh but Under The Boards is a step back in the right direction. You need to get Can't Slow Down and Through Being Cool for the hits though. And I'm Sorry I'm Leaving for the acoustic jams and Modern English covers.
Zachary
24th September 2008, 02:49 AM
Sorry I'm leaving is class. The bsides thing is good too. It has taht and some really early shit. Also I read just there that Adam Lazarra might be doing a collaboration record with Saves the Day he better fuck off and let John Nolan do it.

Zachary

It's seriously so bad compared to pre Stay What You Are. I just can't understand how someone who likes Through Being Cool can like that piece of shit. They're one of my favourite bands but that cd is a piece of shit.
Reuben
5th November 2008, 02:32 PM
I really can't get into the last two albums. I like bits here and there, and I give them more of a chance cuz they're one of my favorite bands but it's like they're by a completely different songwriter. Lyrics are completely different, not nearly as original and clever, and I don't understand what he's getting at with his new vocal stylings.
In Reverie is decent, stylistically different you can tell it's by the same band 'cuz the songs are still there underneath the weird Beatles bits. Thru Being Cool and Stay What You Are are where it's at, though. And I'm Sorry I'm Leaving is generally as good as acoustic pop punk gets.
ianthefox

What I like about the last two albums is the real Beatles influence in the songs, it was after reading an interview with Chris ranting and raving about The Beatles that I first gave The Beatles a listen and I was amazed. Their song writing has gotten weirder and there is just this certain sound of the chords in the new tunes that just makes me go, "Fuck Yeah!!!". I guess Stay What You Are changed my life but the new tunes influence me more when writing my own songs.
