There's no reason why anyone here shouldn't like them.

There you go. This demo was leaked earlier this year. The band don't really want it out and being spread around, as they're probably going to rerecord most (if not all) of these for the album out next summer.
Celeste
8th December 2005, 11:16 AM
Oh God damn they are some fine songs. EDIT: Are the first two tracks supposed to be that length? As good as those songs are, they can't beat that interlude in the Goonies song on purevolume. That's a mosh part right?
I definitely wanna get some of their stuff on Cd.
Dee
8th December 2005, 11:44 AM
Awww thanks Glenn.....thanking you!
xGlennx
8th December 2005, 12:22 PM
Yeah those songs are the correct length. Whether or not they'll make them longer on the album or not I don't know.
If you wanted to buy something by them, then all they've got out is the first demo. You can get it from Revhq.com (http://revhq.com/store.revhq?Page=search&Keywords=set+your+goals&Category=Search+All)

18th January 2006, 05:51 PM
I heard that they might be coming over later this year (like October or something), but that's just internet rumours. Wait until the album comes out in the summer and see how big they'll be then. They've got the potential to plow up big style, but whether or not they will I don't know.

From their myspace:
this morning we awoke to discover our trailer was stolen during the night. luckily we'd stashed all our equipment inside of the studio beforehand, but all of our merch and our means of traveling (the trailer itself) is gone. we now have no way of transporting our equipment and no means of making money on tour, therefore as of right now we can't tour.
hopefully one of us will be able to take out a personal loan or something and buy a new trailer and order more merch or something because as of right now that's the only way we're going to be able to tour.
if anyone can help out with paypal donations my paypal account is mattwilsonrules@gmail.com
any amount will help at this point. seriously. this is terrible.

I'm not saying don't go to the Cardiff show or anything, but it's just that if there was more people interested in going (other than Gav and Iano) then you might want to think about somewhere else. When it was just the three of us, staying in one room in a Travelodge wouldn't have been a problem. Somewhere to fit more people in Cardiff (that's not expensive) will be.
And out of them two shows I'd rather the Underworld one. Just because on the 26th Guns Up! are playing in Newport and I want to go to that.
Robbie Control
21st April 2006, 09:36 PM
Oh yeah, I was just throwing up the two dates so the people interested didn't have to go looking for them.
xGavx
21st April 2006, 11:14 PM
People could get their own Travelodge rooms. Me and Iano need to go somewhere new.
xGlennx
21st April 2006, 11:42 PM
Well that's the thing, it's not a big hotel. There was only that one room availible for the time (it might even be gone now really).

22nd April 2006, 12:59 PM
I'd rather the Underworld one.

..and what i thought were co-ed bathrooms

Using co-ed's there isn't right. KFC has nothing to do with education. I think you mean unisex.

Using co-ed's there isn't right. KFC has nothing to do with education. I think you mean unisex.
nah sorry thats wrong - in colloquial terms its used as either -
look beyond the political correctness this article below is trying to imbue and ull see co-ed can be used and theres really no question :
"Ana Minyan, the moderator of the panel, said that bathrooms will be called gender-neutral, rather than co-ed, because, 'this terminology is generally used to refer to two sexes while the gender-neutral tends to be associated with more diversity and fluidity within the sex-gender continuum. As our aim is to make everyone, no matter what their gender and/or sexual persona is, more comfortable, we are using the term gender-neutral'."
and this....
"Coexisting in Coed Residence
Living in a coed dormitory can be an interesting experience for a college student. There are many issues that may arise when living with the opposite sex. If you are currently living or want to live in a coed dorm, follow these suggestions to ensure that your coed living experience flows as smoothly as possible.
• Respect the opposite sex. Whether your coed residence hall is divided up by floor, wing, room, etc., you should always respect the people living within the dormitory. That means no snide remarks or jokes about the opposite sex. And be sure to always follow the golden rule and treat your dorm mates as you would like to be treated.
• Avoid dating people who live in your dorm. Living in the same dorm with your girlfriend or boyfriend may be great when the relationship is going smoothly, but what if the relationship turns sour? You probably would not want to keep running into your ex on an everyday basis, so it’s best to date someone who doesn’t share the same communal restroom as you. However, if you do decide to date someone from your dorm, be sure to stay on good terms if the relationship ends.
• Get over any embarrassment. In many coed dorms, guys and gals share the same bathroom. Girls, if you don’t want a guy to see you in your pajamas with a towel wrapped around your head and no makeup on, then a coed dorm may not be for you. Guys, if you would prefer that the females in your dorm hall not know the color of your boxer shorts, then you should stick with an all-male dorm.
• Don’t forget about your studies. If you like to flirt, it may be harder to concentrate on studying when living in a coed dorm. Go to a quiet place in the library to study if you are easily distracted by members of the opposite sex.
While there are bound to be uncomfortable situations that arise when living in a coed dorm, it can still be a really great experience. Living with members of the opposite sex allows you to get to know how they think. Use it to your advantage. "
basically it means uni-sex too - so...
xrobbedgex
23rd April 2006, 01:56 PM
Nope. Co-ed comes from co-educational. As in a co-educational college, accessible to both sexes. It can be used with reference to facilities at an educational institution, as in co-ed dorm, co-ed pool, co-ed gym.
That does not include a KFC bathroom.

xrobbedgex
23rd April 2006, 04:21 PM
What's not to get? You used co-ed in an incorrect context. Even in colloquial terms, I would correct someone who described a unisex bathroom as co-ed, when the bathroom in question is not connected to educational establishment.
The meaning is the same, but the usage is incorrect.
Oisin
23rd April 2006, 04:28 PM
i knew this was pointless
plus dont u think that if you actually thought you were correct you'd be content to leave it - but again .. your obviously wrong and have realised it so....
how about this .. ill forsake common knowledge and a proficient use of english - and we can just agree to disagree -
(im not responding to anymore on this since its too stupid to comprehend)
now back to music..
or Vonnegut, someone said ur a fan..??
xCiaránx
23rd April 2006, 05:09 PM
Go on, xrobbedgex.
xrobbedgex
23rd April 2006, 05:10 PM
Thanks for deciding I'm your educational inferior. Incidentally, a proficient use of english doesn't include the complete abscence of capital letters, a hit and miss approach to punctuation and the bastardisation of proper nouns to single letters. As such, the fact that you forsook yours wasn't lost on me.
Colloquial. Of or relating to conversation. From the latin colloquium meaning 'speaking together', when used both in the adjective and noun form.
Co-ed. Adjectivally, of or relating to an education system in which both men and women attend the same institution or classes; coeducational: a coed university. Colloquially used as a noun refering to a woman who attends a coeducational college or university.
Just because a bathroom is shared by both men and women, whether it actually was or if you were mistaken, doesn't automatically make it co-ed. The difference between unisex and co-ed is the educational establishment. In a coeducational facility a resource used by both sexes can be described as both unisex and co-ed, but is generally not done at the same time (i.e. a co-ed unisex bathroom). In other situations, co-ed is not applicable and unisex is correct.
I'm not content to leave it because I enjoy arguing any point to death, especially when I am correct and am being told I'm not.
I'll just leave my stupid response at that, and get back on topic.
That pole in the middle of the dancefloor at the Underworld can totally ruin a show.
And I'm a pretty big Vonnegut fan. Slaughterhouse Five is my favourite, but I liked Cat's Cradle a lot too. I'd never read him til about 5 years ago, and then I came across three references to him within the space of a couple hours, so I took it as a sign. I still have a bunch to read.
Oisin
23rd April 2006, 05:27 PM
Yea im a pretty big fan - when i went to Paris i found loads of his lesser known works - which was great -
i try not to get his reprinted books like the type found in Easons if u know what i mean - the books with a sense of antiquity are far better
did u see the Slaughter House Five film they made - they also made one of Breakfast of Champions starring Bruce Willis of all people
Do you like the Beat writers ?? If u havent read Bukowski or William Burroughs they are great too (Burroughs wrote Junky and Naked Lunch which are pretty famous)
Oisin
23rd April 2006, 05:28 PM
Plus yea that pole in the middle of the underground is awful - when is the Terror dvd out.. Iano and I are in it for sure
Glenn is probably in it as much as the band !
xrobbedgex
23rd April 2006, 05:39 PM
I hear you. New, edgy cover artwork and forewords don't necessarily light my fire either, but sometimes you just need to buy something to read.
I haven't seen Breakfast Of Champions. It was on TV a while ago, but I was up early for work so I had to pass. I didn't even know they made a Slaughterhouse Five film. The book has some of my favourite Vonnegut lines in it.
She was a sensational invitation to make babies. Men saw her and wanted to fill her up with babies right away.
It's weird you mention Burroughs. I just bought Naked Lunch yesterday. Again, 'fantastic' new packaging, but I had a 2 hour bus journey to make, and for €4 in Virgin you can't go wrong. I like it so far, but I'm not too long into it. I remember seeing the film Cronenberg made of it when I was a kid but I had no clue as to what was going on.
Like the Simpsons say, I can think of two things wrong with the title of that movie.

23rd April 2006, 05:41 PM
Plus yea that pole in the middle of the underground is awful - when is the Terror dvd out.. Iano and I are in it for sure
Glenn is probably in it as much as the band !
I saw 100 Demons, Everyone Gets Hurt and a bunch of other bands there one weekend in 2004 and I can safely say that, besides Belgian tough guys threatening to kill me, the pole was the low point of the whole show.
The high point was definitely my friend getting hit in the nuts by a girl with a cast. Wah ha ha ha.
Oisin
23rd April 2006, 05:51 PM
ahhaahah thats amazing
ill have to give u a load of books if u like those guys ( i have a picture of vonnegut under hero on my page) his newest book - a series of memoirs - is really great
get his book dead eye dick .. its about this kid who shoots a gun and kills three generations of the same family with the shot - its insane
Bukowski is another great one - his writing is all about min wage, women , drinking , ending up in the gutter - its really depressing , the newest matt damon movie ...ehhh Factotum (??) is based on him
Chino and all these grunge bands were said to be really influenced by him - Bret Easton Ellis is more modern but Mark(bag) and i really like him
uve seen American Psycho obviously -
xGlennx

I'd like to just point out that there were no toilets at all in the KFC. There was barely enough room to stand around.
xrobbedgex
23rd April 2006, 06:01 PM
I started reading Dead Eye Dick a while ago, but lost it. A friend has a bunch of Vonnegut books that she said she'd pass on to me. I'll have to word her up about that again.
I haven't seen American Psycho, but I did read it a few years ago. It kind of made me feel like killing a bunch of people, like I could get away with it. Fucked up. I heard the movie is not as good (it was never going to be), but that Christian Bale is amazing in it.
Was it not Matt Dillon in Factotum?
Oisin
23rd April 2006, 06:11 PM
yea hahah shit i just realised i put down Damon- ..its those boyish good looks - hahha -
yea the film of American Psycho isnt as good as the book - the book is sick - Bret Easton Ellis said that he recently reread that book and couldnt believe the brutality ahah thats amazing
have you seen Requiem for a Dream - thats another insane film

I started reading Dead Eye Dick a while ago, but lost it. A friend has a bunch of Vonnegut books that she said she'd pass on to me. I'll have to word her up about that again.
I haven't seen American Psycho, but I did read it a few years ago. It kind of made me feel like killing a bunch of people, like I could get away with it. Fucked up. I heard the movie is not as good (it was never going to be), but that Christian Bale is amazing in it.
I didn't like American Psycho that much but Vonnegut's brilliant, read Mother Night and Timequake.

The Cardiff show isn't happening anymore.
It's in Newport instead!
Iano
4th May 2006, 01:06 AM
so what does that mean for us?
xGlennx
4th May 2006, 01:12 AM
It means it's in a much smaller venue. With a stage. It might mean having to leave early in order to get the train back to Cardiff (but I doubt it, only if the show is running late), but if that's the case then I'll take my car and we can drive back into Cardiff.
It's good news, don't worry. Le Pub is a class venue, especially when it's packed.
xGavx
4th May 2006, 02:46 AM
So we're still booking the place in Cardiff and flights to Bristol and shit? We'll do all that at the weekend.
